December in Ottawa

We just got back from a nice walk. It's December in Ottawa, and I was wearing a long sleeve shirt, an athletic jacket and a puffy vest....no winter boots, no scarf, no big jacket. We walked along the river a ways, past some really nice houses (similar to the ones on the edge of the Uplands). It started to get a little chilly, plus Jazzy was outside, so we decided to return home. We are both looking forward to when it is really covered in snow, and for spring, when everything will be green and in bloom. We really do live in a glorious location, right on the river with a bike/walking path practically at our front door. It's almost like we live on the Selkirk.
In other news, Jazzy has discovered the hole in our fence that leads to our neighbours yard. They in turn have a hole in their fence, or rather, their gate doesn't close completely. Jazzy went on her first exploration today. She had me worried that she wouldn't return, or that she would get into a fight with some other cat or dog. To be honest, I still think she might! But right now, she is sitting beside me, purring and kneading the blanket. Ahh, winter nights with a cat are a delight!

I was pretty worried about my cat when we first moved here, but she seems Queen of her territory. I've heard one scrap that she's been in, so I can sympathize with your fear....I'm sure your cat will soon show dominance to her territory too.

Good to hear that you are settling in and meeting people. Your place looks great and it sounds like you have a great location.
See you in Lethbridge- Christmas Eve Service?
